The Photographs of Enrique de la Uz

A presentation by Charles Anselmo, Sunday, March 29, 2026, at 2:00 PM.

Referencing the current exhibition CUBA ZAFRA, gallery director Charles Anselmo will discuss the work of Cuban photographer Enrique de la Uz. Consistently recognized as one of the nation's most famous post-revolutionary photographers, de la Uz significantly contributed to the visual iconography which depicted Cuba's post-revolutionary worker-citizen, here exemplified in his black and white series focusing on the workers in the 1970 zafra, the annual harvesting of sugar cane.
